Daddy’s head (2024)

A claustrophobic psychological horror, Daddy’s Head tells the story of a grieving stepmother and her stepson locked together in a house following the sudden death of the father. Set almost entirely within the confines of their home, the film explores isolation, family trauma, and emotional repression through a surreal, creeping tension.

The film premiered at Fantastic Fest in Austin and was released on Shudder, earning an 85% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes and selection as one of the New York Times’ Top 3 Halloween Films of the year. The project led to Benjamin signing with Ian McKnight at Anonymous Content for ongoing representation in feature film work.

Double Date (2017)

Director, Editor & Music Arranger

Released in 2017 with a nationwide UK cinema run, Double Date is a violent and sharply funny horror-comedy that unfolds over a single night in London. It follows two friends on what should be an ordinary blind double date — until things take a brutal, unexpected turn. The film blends twisted humour with escalating tension, striking a balance between genre thrills and character-driven chaos.

The film premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and went on to win Best International Feature at the Strasbourg European Fantastic Film Festival. It was longlisted for a British Independent Film Award (BIFA) for Best Debut Director. Double Date was scored by the band Goat, with Benjamin overseeing the musical arrangements to give the film its distinctive tone and energy. The project was born from a series of DIY comedy shorts made with writer-star Danny Morgan — a collaboration that led to Benjamin signing with Curtis Brown and directing his first theatrical feature.
